Service

Just like any household appliance, a garage door needs periodic checks to make sure it's working properly.  Time and weather can adversely affect the proper functioning of your door.  There are many parts to your door that must work well in order to keep the door operating without interruption.  Just like a car, a regular schedule of maintenance for your door and opener can save you money and headaches down the road.  Routine maintenance will not only prevent major problems, it will assure you of the safety that you don't want to compromise.

  • Every month, inspect all moving parts for wear and tear.
  • Every six months, lubricate all moving parts (except nylon rollers) with a silicone lubricate spray.
  • Wood doors need frequent repainting to protect against the elements.  Make it a priority to paint your garage door at least as often as you paint your house.
  • Every month, check the safety reverse on the opener.  (See the opener owner's manual for details.)

If you wish for us to come out and do a safety tune-up on your door &/or opener, please give us a call to schedule an appointment.  Ask for Sharon!
